Start your day with the light and fluffy goodness of Airy Cottage Cheese Dessert: A Delightful Breakfast Treat! This protein-packed dish is a harmonious blend of cottage cheese, whipped egg whites, and a hint of sweetness. Perfect as a breakfast or a mid-day snack, this dessert is easy to make, customizable, and absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

  • 600 grams cottage cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 130 grams sugar
  • 250 grams sour cream (or natural yogurt)
  • 30 grams corn starch
  • A pinch of salt
  • 50 grams coconut flakes
  • Almond flakes (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the Eggs:

  • Separate the egg yolks and whites. Set the whites aside in a clean bowl for whipping later.

3. Create the Cottage Cheese Base:

  • In a large bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg yolks, vanilla sugar, and regular sugar. Blend using a hand mixer or whisk until smooth.

4. Add Creaminess and Texture:

  • Stir in the sour cream (or natural yogurt), then gradually mix in the corn starch and salt. Make sure the mixture is lump-free.

5. Whip the Egg Whites:

  • Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form. This will make your dessert light and airy.

6. Fold in the Egg Whites:

  • Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the cottage cheese mixture using a spatula. Be careful not to overmix to retain the fluffiness.

7. Add Toppings:

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with coconut flakes and almond flakes (if using) for added crunch and flavor.

8. Bake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.

9. Cool and Serve:

  • Let the dessert cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm for a comforting breakfast or chilled for a refreshing treat.

Notes

  • Substitute Options: Replace sour cream with Greek yogurt for a tangy twist.
  • Toppings: Add fresh berries or a drizzle of honey for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze portions for later.
