Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, combine the melted butter, 1/2 cup sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Prepare the cinnamon-sugar coating by mixing 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying a few at a time to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Immediately roll the warm churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated. Serve warm.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the churro bites before serving.
