Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are the perfect combination of crispy fried chicken, creamy and zesty Bang Bang sauce, and fresh toppings, all sandwiched in soft slider buns. These crowd-pleasing mini sandwiches are ideal for parties, game days, or indulgent family dinners.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts – 2 lbs
- Buttermilk – 1 cup
- Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder – 1 teaspoon
- Paprika – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour – 1 cup
- Panko breadcrumbs – 1 cup
- Vegetable oil – For frying
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
- Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup
- Sweet chili sauce – 1/4 cup
- Sriracha sauce – 2 tablespoons
- Honey – 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
For the Sliders:
- Mini slider buns – 12
- Shredded lettuce – 1 cup
- Thinly sliced red onion – 1/2 cup
- Pickles (optional) – 1/2 cup
- Fresh cilantro (optional) – For garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken
- Cut chicken breasts into slider-sized pieces.
- Mix buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
- Submerge chicken in the buttermilk mixture. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce
- Combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, lime juice, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Stir until smooth and adjust sweetness or spiciness to taste.
- Fry the Chicken
- Combine flour and panko breadcrumbs in a shallow dish.
- Remove chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
- Assemble the Sliders
- Toast slider buns lightly.
- Spread Bang Bang sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add fried chicken, shredded lettuce, red onion, and pickles (if desired).
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and top with the other half of the bun.
