Description

A delicious recipe for BBQ Grilled Prawns with Garlic, Lemon & Chilli, perfect for summer grilling.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Add the prawns to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Thread the marinated prawns onto skewers, about 4-5 prawns per skewer.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the prawns are pink and opaque.
  6. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a minute. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the marinade.
  • Substitute prawns with scallops or chicken breast for a different protein option. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
