A delicious recipe for BBQ Grilled Prawns with Garlic, Lemon & Chilli, perfect for summer grilling.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Add the prawns to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated prawns onto skewers, about 4-5 prawns per skewer.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the prawns are pink and opaque.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a minute. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the marinade.
- Substitute prawns with scallops or chicken breast for a different protein option. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
