- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute until it comes together.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into squares or triangles.
- Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Brush the tops with melted butter.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter version, add 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup to the dough.
- You can also substitute the sausage with cooked bacon or ham for a different flavor.
