Ingredients

  • Large eggs – 6
  • Breakfast sausage – 1 pound
  • Whole milk – 1 cup
  • Cheddar cheese (shredded) – 2 cups
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Sea salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Dried minced garlic – ½ teaspoon
  • Dried minced onion – ½ teaspoon
  • Refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet – 1 sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for even baking and a golden-brown crust.
  2. Cook the Sausage:
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
    • Brown the breakfast sausage, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
    • Drain excess oil and set the sausage aside to cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Roll Crust:
    • Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish.
    • Pinch the seams together to form a solid base.
  4. Layer the Ingredients:
    • Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the crust.
    • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sausage layer.
  5. Mix the Egg Mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, black pepper, sea salt, dried minced garlic, and dried minced onion until fully combined.
  6. Pour and Bake:
    • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese layer.
    • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing into 12 squares.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
