Buffalo Chicken Dip is a creamy, spicy, and cheesy appetizer that’s perfect for any occasion. Combining the bold flavors of buffalo wings with the comfort of a gooey dip, this dish is a crowd-pleaser that pairs perfectly with celery sticks, crackers, or tortilla chips.
Ingredients
- 2 (10-ounce) cans chunk chicken, drained
- ¾ cup hot pepper sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
- 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup ranch dressing
- 1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 bunch celery, cut into 4-inch sticks
- 1 (8-ounce) box chicken-flavored crackers
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Ensure cream cheese is softened, chicken is drained, and celery sticks are cut.
- Cook Chicken and Hot Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the drained chicken and hot sauce. Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
- Add Cream Cheese and Ranch: Stir in the softened cream cheese and ranch dressing. Cook for an additional 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Mix in Cheese: Add half of the shredded Cheddar cheese to the skillet. Stir until fully melted and incorporated.
- Transfer to Slow Cooker: Pour the mixture into a slow cooker. Sprinkle the remaining shredded Cheddar cheese on top.
- Cook and Serve: Cover and cook on Low for about 35 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly. Serve directly from the slow cooker with celery sticks, chicken-flavored crackers, or other dippers.
Notes
- Cheese Options: Substitute Cheddar with Monterey Jack, Gouda, or Colby Jack for a different flavor.
- Make-Ahead: Assemble the dip up to the slow-cooking step and refrigerate overnight. Cook when ready to serve.
- Bake Instead: For an oven-baked version, transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with cheese, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes.
