Description
A luxurious recipe for butter poached lobster tails, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
- 4 lobster tails (about 6 ounces each)
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by thawing the lobster tails if they are frozen. Place them in the refrigerator overnight or submerge them in cold water for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat a large pot over low heat. Add the butter and water, stirring gently until the butter is completely melted and combined with the water.
- Add the salt and lemon juice to the butter mixture, stirring to incorporate.
- Carefully place the lobster tails in the pot, ensuring they are fully submerged in the butter mixture. If necessary, you can cut the tails in half lengthwise for even cooking.
- Cook the lobster tails for about 8-10 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and tender. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 140°F.
- Once cooked, remove the lobster tails from the pot and let them rest for a minute. Drizzle with additional melted butter if desired and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, infuse the butter with garlic or herbs such as thyme or rosemary while melting it.
- Serve the lobster tails with a side of drawn butter or a squeeze of fresh lemon for an extra burst of flavor.
