Description

A delicious and comforting casserole combining the flavors of cheeseburgers and tater tots.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 bag (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully cooked and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the cheddar cheese. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the sour cream and cream of mushroom soup until well combined.
  5. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom.
  6. Pour the sour cream mixture over the beef, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Top with the frozen tater tots in a single layer.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top, and if desired, add chopped pickles.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven and drizzle with ketchup before serving. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • You can also substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
