Ingredients
- 2 large loaves of Texas toast (thick-cut white bread)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of Texas toast.
- Place the slices butter-side up on a baking sheet.
- In a separate bowl, mix the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses together.
- Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the buttered side of each slice of bread.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the toast are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute before slicing. Serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add jalapeño slices on top of the cheese before baking.
