Ingredients

  • 2 large loaves of Texas toast (thick-cut white bread)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of Texas toast.
  4. Place the slices butter-side up on a baking sheet.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses together.
  6. Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the buttered side of each slice of bread.
