Description
A creamy and delicious Cherry Greek Frozen Yogurt that is perfect for a refreshing treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a blender or food processor, combine the Greek yogurt, cherries, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, lemon juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more honey or maple syrup.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish or an ice cream maker. If using a shallow dish, cover it with plastic wrap.
- If using an ice cream maker, churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- If using a shallow dish, freeze for about 4-6 hours, stirring every 30 minutes for the first 2 hours to break up ice crystals.
- Once the yogurt is frozen to your desired consistency, scoop it into bowls and serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, let the frozen yogurt sit at room temperature for about 5-10 minutes before scooping.
- You can also add a swirl of chocolate or a sprinkle of nuts for added flavor and crunch.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute the Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt.
