Description

Cherry Lemonade is a refreshing summer drink made with fresh cherries and lemon juice, perfect for hot days.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and cherries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the pitted cherries and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the cherry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the pulp and skins. Use a spoon to press the mixture to extract as much juice as possible.
  3. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar to the cherry juice in the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
  5. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  6. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and whole cherries if desired.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, replace half of the cold water with club soda or sparkling water just before serving.
  • Add a few fresh mint leaves to the pitcher for a refreshing twist and garnish with mint sprigs when serving.
