Description
Cherry Lemonade is a refreshing summer drink made with fresh cherries and lemon juice, perfect for hot days.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and cherries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the pitted cherries and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the cherry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the pulp and skins. Use a spoon to press the mixture to extract as much juice as possible.
- Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar to the cherry juice in the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
- Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and whole cherries if desired.
Notes
- For a sparkling version, replace half of the cold water with club soda or sparkling water just before serving.
- Add a few fresh mint leaves to the pitcher for a refreshing twist and garnish with mint sprigs when serving.
