  • Author: Annabel
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 18–20 truffles

Description

Transform nostalgic Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes into festive and delightful truffles that are perfect for any holiday celebration. These bite-sized treats are easy to make, stunning to look at, and delicious to eat. Whether you’re hosting a gathering or preparing edible gifts, this recipe will add a sweet touch to your holidays.

Ingredients

  • 10 Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 12 oz almond bark or white chocolate candy melts
  • Red food coloring (as needed)
  • Green sanding sugar (as needed)

Instructions

  • Crumb the Cakes: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. Break them into smaller pieces and place them in a food processor. Pulse until the cakes are reduced to fine crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, crumble them by hand in a large bowl, ensuring there are no large chunks.
  • Mix the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the cake crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Use a spatula or your hands to mix thoroughly until the mixture forms a thick, sticky dough.
  • Shape the Truffles: Scoop out about 1–2 tablespoons of the dough and roll it into smooth balls using your palms. Place the rolled truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to firm up.
  • Coat the Truffles: Melt the almond bark or white chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, using a fork or toothpick to lift it out. Let the excess drip off before placing the truffle back on the parchment paper.
  • Decorate the Truffles: While the coating is still wet, sprinkle the truffles with green sanding sugar. Use red food coloring to add decorative dots or accents, mimicking Christmas tree ornaments. Add edible glitter or candy stars for a magical touch.

Notes

  • Refrigerate Before Rolling: If the dough becomes too soft or sticky while shaping, chill it again for 10–15 minutes.
  • Smooth Coating: Make sure the melted almond bark isn’t overheated, as this can cause the coating to clump.
  • Decorating Tips: Decorate each truffle immediately after dipping to ensure the toppings adhere to the wet coating.
