  • Author: Annabel
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 16 bites

Description

Combining the crispy sweetness of churros with the creamy decadence of cheesecake, these Churro Cheesecake Bites are the ultimate dessert! Rolled in cinnamon sugar and fried to perfection, they’re quick to make and impossible to resist. Perfect for parties, holidays, or a fun snack at home.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (or homemade crescent dough)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:

    • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream.
    • Beat the mixture until smooth and creamy, then set it aside.
  2. Assemble the Cheesecake Bites:

    • Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut it into individual triangular sections.
    • Place a small spoonful of the cheesecake mixture into the center of each triangle.
    • Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal tightly and form a small pocket. Ensure there are no open edges to prevent the filling from leaking.
  3. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

    • In a shallow bowl, mix the 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Stir well and set aside.
  4. Fry the Cheesecake Bites:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet to 350°F (175°C). Make sure there’s enough oil for the bites to float.
    • Carefully place a few cheesecake bites into the hot oil. Fry for 1–2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
    • Remove the bites with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:

    • While the bites are still warm, roll each one in the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Serve your Churro Cheesecake Bites warm for the best flavor, or let them cool to room temperature. Pair them with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce for an extra indulgent treat!

Notes

  • Homemade Dough: If you prefer to make your own crescent dough, roll it out thinly to ensure crispy results.
  • Oil Temperature: Use a thermometer to keep the oil at a steady 350°F (175°C) for even frying.
  • Baking Option: For a lighter version, bake the assembled bites at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown. Roll in cinnamon sugar immediately after baking.
  • Leftovers: Store leftover bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
  • Freezing: Freeze uncooked bites and fry them directly from frozen when ready to serve, adding 1–2 minutes to the frying time.
