For the Shrimp
- 1 lb wild-caught shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon lime zest (from 1 lime)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (from the same lime)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
For the Slaw
- 3 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
- ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 lime)
- Pinch of salt
For Assembly
- 8 (6-inch) corn or flour tortillas
- Sliced avocado
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
Season the Shrimp
- Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Sprinkle shrimp with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder. Toss to coat evenly.
2. Cook the Shrimp
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
- Cook for 90 seconds on one side, flip, and cook for another 90 seconds until the shrimp turn opaque with golden caramelization.
3. Make the Sauce
- Reduce heat to low. Add butter, lime zest, lime juice, and honey to the skillet.
- Toss shrimp in the sauce, simmering for 2–3 minutes until it thickens and coats the shrimp.
- Stir in chopped cilantro and remove from heat.
4. Prepare the Slaw
- In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, cilantro, Greek yogurt, lime juice, and a pinch of salt.
- Toss well to evenly coat the cabbage.
5. Warm the Tortillas
- Heat tortillas in the microwave, oven, or over a gas flame for a light char.
6. Assemble the Tacos
- Add a scoop of slaw to each tortilla, followed by 4–6 shrimp.
- Drizzle some of the cilantro lime sauce over the shrimp, then top with sliced avocado.
- Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice and serve immediately.
