Description
Crab Crunchies are delicious bite-sized snacks made with shredded crab meat and crispy panko breadcrumbs, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked crab meat, shredded
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, panko breadcrumbs, cream cheese, green onions, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. If using, roll each ball in shredded cheddar cheese for added flavor.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the crab balls in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the crab crunchies from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as cocktail sauce or tartar sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of hot sauce to the mixture.
- Try baking the crab crunchies at 375°F for 15-20 minutes instead of frying for a healthier option.
