Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Creamy Banana Dream Pie that combines a buttery graham cracker crust with layers of banana and vanilla pudding, topped with whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, instant vanilla pudding mix, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
- Once the crust is cool, layer half of the sliced bananas on the bottom.
- Pour half of the pudding mixture over the bananas, then add the remaining bananas and top with the rest of the pudding mixture.
- In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the top of the pie.
- Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow it to set properly.
Notes
- This recipe serves 8.
- For a chocolate twist, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the pudding mixture.
- You can substitute the graham cracker crust with a pre-made Oreo crust for a different flavor.
