Description

Creamy Beef and Shells is a comforting and hearty dinner option that combines ground beef, shell pasta, and a rich creamy sauce, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces medium shell pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  4. While the beef mixture simmers, cook the shell pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. Once the beef mixture has simmered for about 5 minutes, reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Allow it to heat through, then add the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until melted and creamy.
  6. Add the cooked shell pasta to the skillet and toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well coated in the creamy sauce.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef and use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers to the beef mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.
