Ingredients
-
8 ounces egg noodles
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 cup chicken broth
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
1 cup frozen peas
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Cook the Noodles
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook according to package directions until al dente (about 7–9 minutes). Drain and set aside. -
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add chicken pieces, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 6–8 minutes until chicken is browned and fully cooked through. -
Make the Sauce
Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Let it cook for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly. Add heavy cream and stir well. Simmer for another 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens. -
Combine Everything
Add the cooked noodles and frozen peas to the skillet. Stir gently to coat everything in the creamy sauce. Sprinkle in Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
-
Serve and Garnish
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
-
If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a splash of chicken broth or water.
-
For added nutrition, toss in extra veggies like spinach, mushrooms, or broccoli.
-
Want it lighter? Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and whole wheat noodles for more fiber.
-
For a vegetarian version, replace chicken with sautéed tofu and use vegetable broth.
-
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Add a little broth or cream when reheating to revive the sauce.
