Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 6 mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Water (for boiling pasta)
- 200 g fettuccine
- Butter (as needed for cooking)
- ½ tablespoon chopped garlic
- 350 ml cream
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
- Chop the onion, garlic, and slice the chicken breasts and mushrooms. Grate the parmesan cheese.
2. Cook the Fettuccine:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. Cook the Chicken and Vegetables:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the onion until soft. Add the mushrooms and cook until tender. Stir in the garlic and sauté for another minute.
4. Make the Alfredo Sauce:
- Reduce the heat to medium. Add cream and milk to the skillet with the onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Stir well.
- Add grated parmesan cheese and stir until melted. Let the sauce simmer until slightly thickened. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
5. Combine and Serve:
- Add the cooked fettuccine and chicken to the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. Let it heat through for 2-3 minutes.
- Divide into plates, garnish with extra parmesan and black pepper, and serve warm.
