Crispy Dry Rub Chicken Wings are flavorful and perfectly baked wings coated in a delicious dry rub, making them a perfect appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme. Mix well to create a dry rub.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the dry rub mixture.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they are not touching each other for maximum crispiness.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
- If you prefer a sweeter flavor, add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the dry rub mixture.
- For a zesty kick, serve with a side of buffalo sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
