Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 hamburger buns
- 1 cup coleslaw mix (optional)
- Sliced green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the pineapple juice, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken using two forks and stir it back into the sauce.
- Toast the hamburger buns if desired.
- Serve the shredded chicken on the buns, topped with coleslaw mix and sliced green onions if using.
