Description

Crockpot Honey Garlic Meatballs are a sweet and savory dish that’s perfect for any occasion. Tender, juicy meatballs are coated in a sticky honey garlic sauce, making them a crowd-pleaser for parties, family dinners, or meal prep. With minimal effort and maximum flavor, this recipe will quickly become a favorite!

Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs frozen meatballs (fully cooked, beef, chicken, turkey, or veggie)
  • ¾ cup honey
  • 1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic)
  • ½ cup onion, diced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the Slow Cooker:
    • Lightly grease the basin of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray or olive oil to prevent sticking.
  • Add the Meatballs:
    • Pour the frozen meatballs into the slow cooker. No need to thaw them; the slow cooker will heat them evenly.
  • Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, olive oil, minced garlic, diced onion, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  • Combine Meatballs and Sauce:
    • Pour the sauce evenly over the meatballs in the slow cooker. Stir gently to coat all the meatballs with the sauce.
  • Cook the Meatballs:
    • Cover and cook on high for 2.5–3 hours or on low for 4–6 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Once cooked, give the meatballs a final stir to coat them fully in the sauce.
    • Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, or chopped parsley for added flavor and presentation.
    • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use high-quality frozen meatballs for the best results, or make your own ahead of time.
  • Adjust the red pepper flakes for your preferred level of spice.
  • For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir it in during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • The sauce works well with plant-based or gluten-free meatballs for dietary preferences.
