Description
Crying Tiger Beef is a flavorful dish featuring marinated flank steak, cooked to perfection and garnished with fresh herbs and lime.
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove the beef from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off.
- Add the beef to the skillet in a single layer, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
- Once cooked, remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the beef garnished with chopped cilantro and green onions, alongside lime wedges for squeezing over the top.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced fresh chili peppers to the marinade.
- To make it a complete meal, serve the beef over jasmine rice or with a side of steamed vegetables.
