  • Yield: 6–8 bread rolls

Description

If you’re looking for a treat that’s soft, fluffy, and oozing with gooey Nutella, this Nutella-filled bread recipe is your answer! Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack, it’s a simple yet delicious way to bring warmth and sweetness to your kitchen. Whether you’re making it for yourself or sharing it with loved ones, this recipe is bound to become a favorite.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 100 ml water
  • 25 grams sugar
  • 4 grams instant yeast
  • 1 egg (weight including shell 60 grams)
  • 280 grams bread flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 30 grams butter (softened)

For the Filling:

  • Nutella (or your desired filling)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix the water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Sprinkle the instant yeast over the water and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the bread flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and the egg to the dry ingredients. Stir until the dough starts to form. Add the softened butter and knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the Dough: Deflate the risen dough by pressing it down gently. Divide it into 6–8 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a disc using your hands or a rolling pin.
  5. Add the Filling: Place a spoonful of Nutella in the center of each disc. Fold the edges of the dough over the Nutella and pinch them tightly to seal the filling inside. Shape each piece into a ball or your desired shape.
  6. Second Rise: Arrange the filled dough balls on a parchment-lined baking tray, leaving some space between them. Cover with a towel and let them rise for another 30–45 minutes.
  7. Bake the Bread: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the bread for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Let the bread cool slightly on a wire rack. Serve warm to enjoy the gooey Nutella center, or store leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Ensure your yeast is fresh for a good rise.
  • Don’t overfill with Nutella to avoid it leaking during baking.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla to the dough for extra flavor.
