Ingredients

  • Potatoes: As many as you want to prepare
  • Olive oil: 100 ml (3.5 fl oz)
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Dried ground garlic: 1 teaspoon
  • Sweet paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dried parsley: 1 teaspoon
  • Ham slices
  • Cheese slices

Instructions

  • Prepare the Potatoes

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Wash and peel the potatoes, then slice them into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Season the Potatoes

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, salt, dried ground garlic, sweet paprika, black pepper, and dried parsley.
    • Add the sliced potatoes to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated in the seasoning mixture.
  • Bake the Potatoes

    • Arrange the seasoned potato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  • Add Ham and Cheese

    • Remove the potatoes from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.
    • Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on top of each potato slice. You can fold the ham and cheese to fit or cut them into smaller pieces if needed.
  • Return to the Oven

    • Put the potatoes back into the oven for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is bubbling.
  • Serve and Enjoy

    • Remove the potatoes from the oven and transfer them to a serving platter.
    • Garnish with additional dried parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Customizations: Feel free to swap out the ham for turkey or omit it altogether for a vegetarian option. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as Gouda, cheddar, or mozzarella.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve alongside grilled chicken, steak, or fish for a complete meal.
