Description
A delicious and easy recipe for blackened salmon topped with a creamy Dijon sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the salmon fillets.
- Add the olive oil to the hot skillet.
- Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a blackened crust.
- While the salmon is cooking, prepare the creamy Dijon sauce by whisking together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and honey in a small bowl.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the salmon is done, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
- Serve the salmon with a generous drizzle of the creamy Dijon sauce on top.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the cayenne pepper in the spice mix.
- To make it lighter, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise in the sauce.
