Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a large crockpot, layer the chopped cabbage, followed by the cooked beef mixture.
  3. Pour the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth over the top.
  4. Sprinkle the uncooked rice, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper evenly over the mixture.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the cabbage is tender and the rice is fully cooked.
  6. Stir the mixture gently before serving to combine all ingredients. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
