Ingredients
- Refrigerated:
- 2 eggs
- 1 egg yolk
- Condiments:
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- Baking & Spices:
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Nuts & Seeds:
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts (chopped)
- Dairy:
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter (softened)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the Butter and Sugars:
- In a large mixing bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the Wet Ingredients:
- Beat in the eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add Nutella and mix until fully incorporated.
- Combine the Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and kosher salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Add Mix-Ins:
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped hazelnuts with a spatula.
- If the dough is sticky, chill it in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
- Shape the Cookies:
- Scoop about 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough per cookie and roll into balls.
