Description
Firecracker Salmon is a flavorful and spicy dish that combines the richness of salmon with a sweet and tangy marinade.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds salmon fillets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper until well combined.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the fillets generously with the marinade, reserving some for later.
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- While the salmon is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the thickened marinade over the top.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more sriracha to the marinade or serve with a side of spicy pickled vegetables.
- For a sweeter flavor, substitute maple syrup for honey.
