Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Fresh Caprese Sandwich featuring fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 large ciabatta roll or baguette
  • 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the ciabatta roll or baguette in half horizontally.
  2. Drizzle the inside of both halves with olive oil.
  3. Layer the fresh mozzarella slices evenly on the bottom half of the bread.
  4. Add the tomato slices on top of the mozzarella.
  5. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the tomatoes to enhance flavor.
  6. Place the fresh basil leaves on top of the tomatoes.
  7. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the basil.
  8. Close the sandwich with the top half of the bread and press down gently.
  9. For a warm sandwich, grill it in a panini press or on a skillet for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is slightly melted.
  10. Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
