Description
A delicious and indulgent Fried Nutella Pancake Sandwich that combines fluffy pancakes with creamy Nutella and optional crushed hazelnuts.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 1/2 cup crushed hazelnuts (optional)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Mix well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove pancakes from the skillet and let them cool slightly.
- Spread a generous layer of Nutella on one pancake, sprinkle with crushed hazelnuts if desired, and top with another pancake to create a sandwich.
- In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and fry the pancake sandwich on both sides until crispy and golden, about 2 minutes per side.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a fun twist, add sliced bananas or strawberries inside the sandwich along with the Nutella.
- Use whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour for a healthier option.
