Description

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of strawberries and cheesecake, all encased in a crispy, golden-brown exterior.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on four slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and then place the remaining four slices of bread on top to create sandwiches.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
  4. In another shallow dish, combine the crushed graham crackers and cinnamon.
  5. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated, then immediately coat with the graham cracker mixture.
  7. Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the sandwiches from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the sandwiches before serving.
  • You can substitute the strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or bananas for different flavors.
