Description
Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of strawberries and cheesecake, all encased in a crispy, golden-brown exterior.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on four slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and then place the remaining four slices of bread on top to create sandwiches.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
- In another shallow dish, combine the crushed graham crackers and cinnamon.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated, then immediately coat with the graham cracker mixture.
- Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the sandwiches from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the sandwiches before serving.
- You can substitute the strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or bananas for different flavors.
