Description
A delicious twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring garlic butter and a blend of sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of thick-cut bread (such as sourdough or Texas toast)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, then top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom slice is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing in half.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes to the cheese layer.
- Try different cheese combinations, such as gouda or pepper jack, for a unique flavor twist.
