Ingredients

  • 2 slices of thick-cut bread (such as sourdough or Texas toast)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley until well combined.
  2. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top of the bread in the skillet.
  5. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, then top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom slice is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
