- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, olive oil, garlic, parsley, oregano, and pepper.
- Add wet ingredients and yeast mixture to the flour. Mix until dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into balls and place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Beat egg and brush over rolls for a golden finish.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can add ½ cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or Parmesan) for a cheesy twist.
- Try rosemary, thyme, or basil in place of parsley and oregano for different flavors.
