Ingredients
- 1 lb medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté the Garlic & Shrimp – In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink (about 3-4 minutes). Remove from heat.
- Mix the Creamy Base – In a bowl, combine heavy cream, mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan, and the cooked shrimp. Stir well.
- Assemble the Gratin – Transfer the shrimp mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the Crunchy Topping – In another bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with the remaining Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle evenly over the shrimp mixture.
- Bake – Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Garnish & Serve – Let it rest for a few minutes, then sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch, toast the panko breadcrumbs before sprinkling them over the gratin.
- A pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of dry white wine can enhance the dish’s depth of flavor.
- Serve with crusty bread, a fresh salad, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for the best texture.
