Description

Turn any meal into an elegant dining experience with this indulgent Garlic Shrimp Gratin. Featuring succulent shrimp bathed in a rich, garlicky cream sauce and topped with golden, crispy breadcrumbs, this dish is a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. Whether served for a cozy dinner or a special gathering, this gratin is guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Sauté the Garlic & Shrimp – In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink (about 3-4 minutes). Remove from heat.
  • Mix the Creamy Base – In a bowl, combine heavy cream, mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan, and the cooked shrimp. Stir well.
  • Assemble the Gratin – Transfer the shrimp mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
  • Prepare the Crunchy Topping – In another bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with the remaining Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle evenly over the shrimp mixture.
  • Bake – Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Garnish & Serve – Let it rest for a few minutes, then sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, toast the panko breadcrumbs before sprinkling them over the gratin.
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of dry white wine can enhance the dish’s depth of flavor.
  • Serve with crusty bread, a fresh salad, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for the best texture.
