Description

A quick and flavorful Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry recipe that combines shrimp with fresh vegetables and a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup snap peas, trimmed
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the bell pepper, snap peas, and broccoli. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and the cornstarch mixture. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For added heat, include a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha when adding the sauces.
  • Substitute the shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein option, adjusting the cooking time as needed.
