Description
A quick and flavorful Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry recipe that combines shrimp with fresh vegetables and a savory sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
- 1 cup snap peas, trimmed
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the bell pepper, snap peas, and broccoli. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and the cornstarch mixture. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
- For added heat, include a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha when adding the sauces.
- Substitute the shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein option, adjusting the cooking time as needed.
