Ingredients
For the Croissants:
- 4 large croissants
- 8 slices ham
- 8 slices Leerdammer cheese (or Gruyère, Swiss, or cheddar)
For the Glaze:
- ½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the Croissants:
- Carefully slice the croissants in half lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Assemble the Croissants:
- Layer one slice of cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.
- Add two slices of ham, then another slice of cheese. Close the croissant halves.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, mix Dijon mustard, honey, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Glaze and Sprinkle:
- Brush the tops of the croissants generously with the glaze.
- Sprinkle poppy seeds over the glazed tops.
- Bake:
- Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 6–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden.
- Serve:
- Serve warm with a side salad, soup, or fresh fruit for a complete meal.
