Ingredients

For the Classic Pizza Calzone:

  • 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 oz pepperoni slices
  • 4 oz can sliced black olives, drained

For the Broccoli & Cheddar Cheese Calzone:

  • 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • ¾ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup chopped broccoli (optional)

Instructions

Classic Pizza Calzone

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza crust on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Spread ½ cup pizza sauce over half of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by pepperoni slices and black olives.
  5. Fold the empty half of the dough over the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes, slice, and serve with marinara for dipping.

Broccoli & Cheddar Cheese Calzone

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza crust on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Sprinkle ¾ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese and ¼ cup mozzarella cheese over half of the dough.
  4. Add ½ cup chopped broccoli (optional) for a veggie-packed option.
  5. Mix 3 tablespoons olive oil with 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning and brush it over the filling and edges of the dough.
  6. Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly, then slice and enjoy!
