Ingredients
- For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- ⅓ cup honey
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- For the Stir-Fry:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 6 ounces kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 ½ cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (to thicken sauce, optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Steamed white rice, brown rice, or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce – In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
- Marinate the Shrimp – Pour half of the sauce over the shrimp and let it marinate for 15-20 minutes while preparing the rest of the dish.
- Sauté the Broccoli – Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli and cook for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Cook the Sausage – In the same pan, add the sliced kielbasa sausage and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp – Add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove from the pan.
- Simmer the Sauce – Pour the remaining sauce into the skillet. If you want a thicker sauce, stir in 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
- Combine Everything – Return the shrimp, sausage, and broccoli to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Serve & Garnish – Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Make it spicier – Add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
- Swap the sausage – Try chicken sausage, chorizo, or turkey kielbasa for a different flavor.
- Low-carb option – Serve over cauliflower rice or zoodles.
- Meal prep – Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days and reheat on the stovetop or microwave.
