Made with a rich, flavorful marinade featuring gochujang (Korean chili paste), honey, garlic, and soy sauce, this dish is incredibly easy to prepare and packed with bold flavors. Cook it in the air fryer for crispy, caramelized goodness or bake it in the oven for a juicy, tender bite. Perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or a healthy alternative to takeout.

Ingredients

  • 6 boneless, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced (white and green parts separated)
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

    • Add the white parts of the green onions and mix well.
  • Marinate the Chicken
    • Place the chicken thighs in the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated.
    • Let them sit for at least 15 minutes (or up to 24 hours for deeper flavor).
  • Cook the Chicken
    • Air Fryer Method:
      • Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
      • Arrange chicken in a single layer and cook for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
    • Oven Method:
      • Preheat to 425°F (220°C).
      • Place chicken on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
      • Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway.
      • Broil for the last 3 minutes for extra crispiness.
  • Serve & Garnish
    • Serve with freshly cooked rice.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds and the green parts of the onions.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) or red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • This recipe works well with chicken breast; adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer or oven for best texture.
