Ingredients

  • For the Limoncello Syrup:

    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
    • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
    • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (78 ml)
    • 1/2 cup Limoncello liqueur (120 ml)
  • For the Limoncello Mascarpone Cream:

    • 2 cups mascarpone cheese (452 g)
    • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
    • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (45 ml)
    • 1/4 cup Limoncello liqueur
    • 1/2 cup lemon curd
    • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (354 ml)
    • 1/3 cup powdered sugar (41 g)
  • For Assembly:

    • 26 ladyfinger cookies
    • 1 cup lemon curd (for layering and garnish)
    • Fresh lemon zest (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Limoncello Syrup

  • In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  • Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Remove the syrup from heat and stir in the Limoncello liqueur. Let the syrup cool completely before using.

2. Make the Limoncello Mascarpone Cream

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, Limoncello, and 1/2 cup of lemon curd.
  • Use a hand mixer to blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until light and fully incorporated.

3. Assemble the Tiramisu

  • Lightly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled Limoncello Syrup. Avoid soaking them too long to prevent sogginess.
  • Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or a trifle bowl.
  • Spread half of the Limoncello Mascarpone Cream over the ladyfingers, smoothing it with a spatula.
  • Add a thin layer of lemon curd over the mascarpone cream for an extra burst of citrus flavor.

4. Repeat the Layers

  • Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers over the lemon curd.
  • Spread the remaining mascarpone cream on top, smoothing the surface.
  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.

5. Garnish and Serve

  • Before serving, spread or dollop additional lemon curd on top.
  • Sprinkle fresh lemon zest for a vibrant garnish.
  • Serve chilled, and enjoy this refreshing, creamy dessert!

Notes

  • Use high-quality Limoncello liqueur for the best flavor.
  • Fresh lemon juice and zest are essential for the bright citrusy taste.
  • Let the tiramisu chill overnight for optimal flavor.
  • If you prefer an alcohol-free version, substitute Limoncello with additional lemon juice or a lemon-flavored syrup.
