For Assembly:
- 26 ladyfinger cookies
- 1 cup lemon curd (for layering and garnish)
- Fresh lemon zest (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Limoncello Syrup
- In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Remove the syrup from heat and stir in the Limoncello liqueur. Let the syrup cool completely before using.
2. Make the Limoncello Mascarpone Cream
- In a large mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, Limoncello, and 1/2 cup of lemon curd.
- Use a hand mixer to blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until light and fully incorporated.
3. Assemble the Tiramisu
- Lightly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled Limoncello Syrup. Avoid soaking them too long to prevent sogginess.
- Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or a trifle bowl.
- Spread half of the Limoncello Mascarpone Cream over the ladyfingers, smoothing it with a spatula.
- Add a thin layer of lemon curd over the mascarpone cream for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
4. Repeat the Layers
- Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers over the lemon curd.
- Spread the remaining mascarpone cream on top, smoothing the surface.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
5. Garnish and Serve
- Before serving, spread or dollop additional lemon curd on top.
- Sprinkle fresh lemon zest for a vibrant garnish.
- Serve chilled, and enjoy this refreshing, creamy dessert!
Notes
- Use high-quality Limoncello liqueur for the best flavor.
- Fresh lemon juice and zest are essential for the bright citrusy taste.
- Let the tiramisu chill overnight for optimal flavor.
- If you prefer an alcohol-free version, substitute Limoncello with additional lemon juice or a lemon-flavored syrup.
