Description
A light and creamy dessert made with ripe mangoes, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (1/4 ounce) unflavored gelatin (optional)
- 2 tablespoons water (if using gelatin)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the diced mangoes, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, lime juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- If using gelatin, sprinkle it over 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom. Then, heat the mixture in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds until dissolved. Stir the dissolved gelatin into the mango mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mango mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the cream.
- Spoon the mousse into individual serving dishes or a large bowl.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set before serving.
Notes
- For a tropical twist, add shredded coconut or diced pineapple to the mousse before chilling.
- Substitute the mango with other fruits like strawberries or peaches for a different flavor profile.
