A delicious Marinated Salumi Sandwich featuring layers of flavorful meats, cheese, and roasted red peppers, all enhanced by a zesty marinade.
Ingredients
- 1 large baguette or ciabatta loaf
- 4 ounces salami, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces capicola, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Slice the baguette or ciabatta loaf in half lengthwise and place it on a clean surface.
- Brush the cut sides of the bread with the marinade, reserving some for later.
- Layer the salami, prosciutto, capicola, and provolone cheese evenly on the bottom half of the bread.
- Add the roasted red peppers and fresh basil leaves on top of the cheese.
- Drizzle a little more of the marinade over the toppings, then place the top half of the bread on the sandwich.
- Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- When ready to serve, slice the sandwich into individual portions and enjoy.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or a spread of spicy mustard inside the sandwich.
