Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
- Add the melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the dessert to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
