Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Orange Glazed Salmon that combines the sweetness of orange with savory flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the orange juice, orange zest, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down. Brush the fillets generously with the orange glaze, reserving some for later.
  4. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. During the last 2 minutes of baking, brush the salmon with the reserved glaze for extra flavor.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
  • For a side dish, serve the salmon with steamed broccoli or a mixed green salad drizzled with a light vinaigrette.
