Description

Pan Fried Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that features crispy tilapia fillets topped with a flavorful lemon butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Place the flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each fillet in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tilapia fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, cooking for an additional minute.
  6. Return the tilapia fillets to the skillet, spooning the lemon butter sauce over them. Cook for another minute to warm through.
  7. Serve the tilapia garnished with fresh parsley and additional lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • For a crispy coating, try mixing cornmeal with the flour for dredging.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the lemon butter sauce for a spicy kick.
