Description
Pan Fried Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that features crispy tilapia fillets topped with a flavorful lemon butter sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- Place the flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each fillet in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tilapia fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, cooking for an additional minute.
- Return the tilapia fillets to the skillet, spooning the lemon butter sauce over them. Cook for another minute to warm through.
- Serve the tilapia garnished with fresh parsley and additional lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
- For a crispy coating, try mixing cornmeal with the flour for dredging.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the lemon butter sauce for a spicy kick.
