Description

he first time I had a pizza burger, it felt like I had uncovered a secret I was never meant to know. The juicy, seasoned beef patty was packed with Italian flavors, topped with melted mozzarella and tangy pizza sauce, all tucked into a warm, toasted bun. It was the perfect fusion—comforting yet exciting, familiar yet new.

Ingredients

For the Patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Toppings:

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: Sliced pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions

For Assembly:

  • 4 hamburger buns (brioche, pretzel, or classic)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patties
    • Mix ground beef, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in a bowl.
    • Form into four equal-sized patties.
  2. Choose Your Cooking Method

    Skillet:

    • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side.
    • Spoon pizza sauce on top, add a slice of mozzarella, and cover until melted.

    Oven:

    • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes.
    • Top with pizza sauce and cheese, then bake for another 5 minutes until melted.

    Grill:

    • Grill over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side.
    • In the last minute, add pizza sauce and mozzarella, then close the lid until melted.
  3. Assemble and Serve
    • Toast the hamburger buns for extra crunch.
    • Place the patties on the buns and add any optional toppings.

Notes

  • For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
  • To prevent soggy buns, lightly toast them before assembling the burgers.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like provolone or cheddar for a unique twist.
  • Leftover patties can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Serve with a side of marinara sauce for extra dipping fun.
