Description

A simple and tasty recipe for Pull Apart Garlic Bread that is perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 16 equal pieces.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt.
  8. Take each piece of dough, flatten it slightly, and place a small amount of the garlic mixture and a pinch of mozzarella cheese in the center. Pinch the dough closed and shape it into a ball.
  9. Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan, stacking them slightly on top of each other.
  10. Cover the pan with a cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving. Brush with additional melted butter if desired.

Notes

  • For a cheesy twist, add more mozzarella or try using cheddar cheese in the filling.
  • Experiment with herbs by adding dried oregano or thyme to the garlic mixture for extra flavor.
