Description

A delightful Raspberry Swirl Brioche Loaf that combines the richness of brioche with the sweet tartness of raspberry jam.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup whole milk, warmed to about 110°F
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup raspberry jam

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the eggs and softened butter to the yeast mixture, whisking until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Spread the raspberry jam evenly over the dough.
  7. Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seams to seal.
  8. Place the rolled dough into a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan, seam side down. Cover and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes, until puffy.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  10. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough.
  • You can substitute the raspberry jam with any fruit jam or preserves of your choice, such as strawberry or apricot, for a different twist.
